"HOW TO PLAY IN A BAND" - Teaching Musicianship and Collaboration with Pop Music
We will 1) explore how learning pop music can help students deepen their understanding of music theory and gain more experience with improvisation using chord charts, lead sheets, and sheet music, 2) discover how playing with a band can help developing musicians hone their collaboration skills, 3) consider unique performance spaces for sharing this music.
