Members are invited to share their best practices in overlapping lessons, partner lessons, weekly group lessons, occasional performance classes, and summer camps. Marissa Leonino Lange is the owner and teacher of the Lange Music Studio, a vibrant and engaging studio for students of all ages in Northwest Akron. She is also a teacher for the Music Together early childhood music program and the music director of the Junior Theater Camp at Beck Center for the Arts. Prior to teaching in the Studio, Marissa taught in the music classroom, serving underserved communities as a Teach For America corps member in Washington, DC, and on staff locally at Rocky River City Schools, St. Vincent Parish School in Akron, and The University of Akron.
Marissa holds a B.A. from Oberlin College and Conservatory, and both a B.A. and M.M. in Music Education at The University of Akron. With the support of an MTNA Teacher Enrichment Grant, Marissa recently completed Level 1 of the Piano Certification Program with the Gordon Institute for Music Learning. She is currently in the MTNA Professional Certification Program to earn Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) designation.
Also a longtime actor in improvisational theater, Marissa is a founding member of Just Go With It, Akron’s premier longform improv group. She has also performed with Improv Olympic in Chicago and Washington Improv Theater in Washington, D.C.
Marissa and her music educator husband, Jesse, have three children, two greyhounds, and a pile of unfolded laundry.
